Can you believe it is February and it is like spring out there. The ground hog said 6 more weeks of winter. With a winter like this I take 6 more weeks. The norm this time of year in Rockford River Valley is cold, snow and icice. The question I pose is the market starting to heat up. Let see, If your not from around Rockford IL or Belvidere IL you may not care too much about that. The news out on the street is 2012 will be a flat year with a pick up in the housing market prices in 2013 or 2014. This is what I see coming. I think we are starting to build things again. Let s start with the Chrysler plant in Belvidere, IL. Since Fiat took over they invested over 600 million Dollars to get the plant ready for the NEW Dodge Dart! Thanks to the state of Illinois helping with some tax breaks to keep the plant up and running on all cylinders. So what you say? I say if you build it they will come. The last time we had some major improvements to the Chrysler plant in Belvidere, IL we had seen thousand of jobs that get created. New word on the street is 1800 new jobs to get the plant in Belvidere up and able to produce the new Dodge Dart. What does that mean for the local economy. Jobs and Jobs equal Money and Money = Housing Sales. That is just the beginning. The parts suppliers will have to go to 3 shift once that happens. That mean more jobs. Jobs and Jobs equal Money and Money = Housing Sales. Don't for get these new workers will have to eat, drink and be merry. So that means Retail Sales will go up. You know what that mean. More Jobs, More Money, More Retail Sales, More Housing Sales and may be we will start to suck up all that extra inventory out there. At least I hope so. When this market starters to Heat up I plan on being on top of it. So as the market heats up So does the weather around these parts. With a little luck and some Jobs this may be the receipt for pulling up the whole Rock River Valley out of this recession. This is only one up beat story in the Area.
